Network issues (3.0.0) XP host, Win7 guest

Post by PhoenixPath »

What I am trying to do:

Running a laptop. Wired connection is to AD domain. Wireless connection is to DSL. Want to bind the wireless to the VM so we can use the VMs for internet and keep the malware and junk *off* of the PC.

Setup:

Installed VBox 3.0.0 using these settings:

Code: Select all

General Name:
WN7

OS Type:
Windows XP

System Base Memory:
768 MB

Processor(s):
1

Boot Order:
CD/DVD-ROM, Hard Disk

VT-x/AMD-V:
Enabled

Nested Paging:
Enabled

Display Video Memory:
128 MB

3D Acceleration:
Enabled

Remote Display Server Port:
3389

Hard Disks
IDE Primary Master:
WIN7.vdi (Normal, 75.00 GB)

CD/DVD-ROM
Image:
VBoxGuestAdditions.iso

Floppy
Not mounted

Audio Host Driver:

Windows DirectSound Controller:
ICH AC97

Network Adapter 1:
PCnet-FAST III (Bridged adapter, Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN)

Serial Ports
Disabled

USB
Device Filters:

0 (0 active)

Shared Folders
None
Wireless is active and connected on the Host. Guest reports that there is *no* network access and generates a "169.254.x.x" address.

Any suggestions? I browsed the forums and looked at the FAQ's/Docs and couldn't find anything relating to 3.0.0 that look relevant. Any help would be **greatly** appreciated.
