The application has failed to start because its side-by-side

Post by oleros »

Running win7 build 7100 on Vista64.
I try to start my software for testing in W7 but get this message:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect
It's a standard shortcut starting an exe file.
Not sre if this is a VB issue but on forums the suggestion is to find and unistall the program that is causing the conflict but my W7 is a fresh install!
Anyone else get this errror?

Well, you can check the event viewer for the error you got. That should have more information on the problem. Any misbehaving program inside the OS is not really something VB can do about, as you can get this problem on a native install too.
