AMD or Intel processor ? Does VirtualBox work fine on both?

Post by Mel_3 »

Will VirtualBox for Windows run as well on an AMD system as it will on an Intel system?

I'm about to install it for the first time and don't want to be fighting any more on the learning curve than I must... so hopefully no issues with the CPU.

I'll get an Intel machine for this if that is what it takes.

Thanks for any help.

It works just dandy on my AMD... In fact since all modern AMD CPU's have processor virtualization and some Intel don't they might even have an advantage over some "consumer" level Intel CPU's. Just be sure to turn it on in the machines CMOS/BIOS settings. I am currently running an AMD Phenom II x4 940 with 8GB of RAM and VirtualBox loves it...
