Vista[Host]-ubuntu[Guest]-Install/uninstall Guest Additions?

Hi,

Using new VirtualBox 3.0.0.
1st install of ubuntu locked up during installation.
(Configuring apt - Scanning the mirror...)
2nd install of ubuntu became unusable when installing Guest Additions.
(using some instructions I find on Internet from 3rd party)

Host is Vista Ultimate 32bit and guest is ubuntu Linux 9.04 32bit.
What is correct method to install Guest Additions on ubuntu Virtual Machine?
Also, how would I uninstall Guest Additions on ubuntu Virtual Machine?

Hoping someone can explain the two questions above or provide good links to proper instructions.

Sorry to bump this, but are there official instructions to install and uninstall Virtual Guest Addictions???
Running Vista as host and ubuntu as guest.
