Bummer, I hope they fix this. At least I can use V3 with the multiple CPU support.
I have an I7 and have core's to spare so this was a really nice feature.
it works ... thanks

Please fix it!

Running on XP host w/ Ubuntu 9 guest and having the same problem.
In addition, I'm using my Ubuntu to connect to remote servers (hp-ux) using SSH.
Trying to do copy/part w/ remote X application (nedit in my case) break the X tunnel : unable to do copy/past, unable to do any mouse action :?

Hopping it will be solved soon

edit : w/o shared clipboard, it's working well

Hi,

Same problem here and same solution.

I'm using an XP guest under an ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 for host.
I installed the addition tools with DX support.

Hoping you'll find a solution soon

bye

Hi,

I get the same results with an Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit host and a Windows XP Pro 32-bit guest.
It seems that the clipboard contents of the guest get permanently overwritten with the clipboard contents of the host. If (on Windows XP guest) one starts "clipbrd.exe" you can see that. The only way for me to stop that was to disable clipboard sharing.

Just for information: in the current SVN version the problem seems to be solved (compiled it from source on Debian Squeeze)

I hope a minor release will be released in the next few days

I have the same experience with XP Pro... but I really need the shared folders.

I added these reg entries (Copy/Move to Folder) so that any file/folder that is selected, can be managed with a right-click the same as the hot-keys would've done. You don't need these reg updates as they already exist in explorer under Edit but I just like the functionality being available with a right-click.

Solved it for me! Thank you. Though I guess the shared clipboard might come handy. Still needs fixing!

Just wanted to report a related bug. On Windows 7, I noticed that even the Host OS has the copy paste problem when VirtualBox 3.0 and a Guest OS is running. The guest doesn't even have to be windows XP - a similar behavior can be observed when running a Kubuntu 9.04 guest.

Just an FYI - I upgraded to version 3.0.2 and the problem seems to be fixed for me.

Running Ubuntu 8.04.3 with a Windows XP Pro. guest.

Cheers and thank you Sun for the quick fix.

I am running VB 3.0.2 on Linux Mint 7_64 host. Problem is not solved for me. Even shared clippboard disabling doesn't help.

@happ,

Uninstall the Guest additions and then shutdown the guest. Reboot the host and then start the guest.
Install the new Guest Additions and then reboot the guest again. See if this works for you.

Sorry, misunderstanding. I have in mind copy paste files between guest and host. I realized that is not supported yet. Copy paste inside guest and shared clipboard work just fine.

Than you for your effort.
