Can you hide virtual machine from a program?

Post by rogerio »

I have been tried to run Priston Tale 1 on a VM with WinXP SP3 and the game denied with the message "Sorry, you cannot run this program in a virtual machine." That's possible hide the virtual machine from a program?
Any suggestions would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Well, the question is how this application detects that it runs inside a VM. For instance, it could ask the DMI information where VirtualBox clearly states that it is a virtual machine. See chapter 9.14 of the user manual to get instructions how to change the DMI information.
