I have problem with the 2.2.4. I cannot mount a single .iso image I have , simple because they do not appear in the Select image dialog ( see attached screenshot ).
The listing of the directory shows there are 3 iso files however.
[misucel@localhost Download]$ ls -ailhc | grep -i iso
1655183 -rwxrwxrwx 1 misucel misucel 2.4G 2009-06-29 21:57 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso

1638465 -rw-rw-r-- 1 misucel misucel 689M 2009-06-29 22:25 Fedora-11-i686-Live.iso
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ? I've done some extensive searching , but I haven't found a similar error.
I'm using Fedora 10 , kernel 2.6.27.25-170.2.72.fc10.i686 #1 SMP , and Virtual Box 2.2.4 r47978.
LE : typing * in the Filter edit box of the dialog and pressing enter solved the problem. Is this a bug ? Should I file a bug report about it ?

Re: Virtual Box doesn't see iso images
Are you sure that there is not a problem with your theme, that the text is white instead of black? The file filter box looks really strange too, all I see are a few comma's (,,,). It's really possible that your system is at fault here, and not VB. Try a different theme.
Personally, I hate themes that try to look like another OS.

Re: Virtual Box doesn't see iso images
No it is not a problem with the theme , I've tried with 3 other different themes ( Oxygen , Polyester , Quarticurve ).
And personally , I think the default themes that come with KDE really suck. And again I don't see anything wrong in using a theme that imitates the Vista look since I find it to be much better in terms of usability and user experience than the KDE look ( but that's not the point of this thread ).

Re: Virtual Box doesn't see iso images
If you click on the arrow to make the filter list drop down, what do you get? The same ", , ,"? Or something else? Do you have any system updates? You can try downgrading KDE to a previous release. Tried reinstalling VB?

Re: Virtual Box doesn't see iso images
The problem can be solved by typing * and pressing enter into the filter editbox. This forces the dialog to show all the files in the directory and the iso images can be selected. My system is up to date , and the previous version of Virtual Box that I have installed from the Fedora repository exhibited the same problem. I'll just have to use this workaround , it's much more acceptable than downgrading KDE ( which may not even solve the problem ).

Re: Virtual Box doesn't see iso images
Since you use the OSE version, we can't really help you because the Fedora devs might have changed something we don't know about. If you really wan to see if it's VB or not, you can grab the PUEL version from the website here and install that one. Just make sure that you remove the OSE first, as they don't work together.
