My host machine has the fllowing specs:
Dell studio 1555
Core 2 duo 2,53
4 GB ddr2
500 GB Harddisk
1920 x 1050 screen resolution
Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570 Graphics Card
Hi I got a problem when i am trying to install windows xp 64 bit on top a windows 7 64 bit machine.
There does not seem to be any option in xp to select the widescreen resolutions. The highest resolution i can select is 1600 x 1200. bit then it fills the right and left edges with black, and the screen expands off my screen in the bottum.
When i installed ubuntu 64 bit on top of windows 7 i didn't either have the possibility to select different screen resolutions, but when i installed "guest additions" the problem was solved.
Do anybody know how to solve this problem. I have seen mulitple threads with this problem (windows on top of windows and screen resolution doesn't work) on the internet, but i have not seen any solutions. Everybody has talked about installing guest additions, but is that also for windows guests?

start the guest and then click on the devices tab at the top of the guest window and then click on install guest additions.
If nothing happens then click on devices and then unmount and then click install guest additions.
After the additions are installed reboot the guest. Then you can use the shortcut keys or drag to change the screen size.
