WINE <1FPS in Linux-Vista(HOST) & ubuntu(GUEST)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I am new to the Virtual Machine scene.
I am a programmer and have fairly good understanding of how to set this up.
I'm running Vista as a host and using VirtualBox to create Virtual Machine of an ubuntu Linux as a guest.
I setup new Virtual Machine properly with settings seen below and mounted and installed ubuntu Linux.
Everything goes fine and Virtual machine reboots and ubuntu Linux guest OS seems to run ok.
I installed WINE onto ubuntu Linux guest, but when I run a Windows program I get less than 1 Frame Per Second.
Is there something I can do to make WINE in Linux guest under Vista host run full speed?
(see system and configuration below)
This is occurring on a completely fresh installation of ubuntu with nothing changed or added.
Can someone help with this issue? Not ready to give up Windows yet and would like to able to run both OS's simultaneously.
Thanks - GREAT SOFTWARE...

Re: WINE <1FPS in Linux-Vista(HOST) & ubuntu(GUEST)
To tell you the truth, getting wine to work in ubuntu while running on vista is kind of an oxymoron.
Others have tried but it has such a poor performance that it is really not worth it IMHO.
I have Vista running with Ubuntu and doing extremely well. Since it is running at the same time if I need something that needs to be done in Windows I simply run it from there and have the best of both worlds. Kind of one of the main reasons for having VirtualBox. To be able to run multiple OS's at the same time.
