Hello,
On my Windows XP Host, VirtualBox 2.2.4 (actually all 2.2) has a little problem. When I start an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS JeOS Guest OS, there is always a pause about 10-20 seconds after it show "Starting up ...". When I turn off splash and quiet boot, the pause is right after it display "Brought up 1 CPUs". The strange thing is that time in the guest (the number in front of log message) seem to be unskipped. That is, at "Brought up 1 CPUs" it is something like [12.xxxx], but after the long pause, the next message just continue with [12.xxxx].
The (almost) same virtual machine start without pause on my Ubuntu 9.04 host.
I try setting IO APIC and adding nosmp boot option, but there is no difference.
Please help.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Ubuntu Geust startup pause...
Hmm, did you enable a CD/DVD-ROM drive for this VM, perhaps with passed-through enabled? Try to disable the CDROM...
