Greyed out usb ports seems to be a pretty common problem. Is this a bug w/ Ubuntu 9.04 and VB2.2.4?
I made some inroads, but ran into a new problem. It seems as though I have access to my usb prots now (vista guest, btw), but I haven't been able to verify it. Now, my usb mouse doesn't work right. I mean, I move the mouse around, and I can see items on the desktop highlighting as I hover over them, but the mouse pointer does not move. Just stays right where it was when I started my virtual machine.
Here's my thread on the ubuntu forums. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1196341
Thanks,
BM
