VT8375 [ProSavage8 KM266/KL266] and win2000 guest

win2000 guest running in Ubuntu 9.04

I installed the VM and then guest additions and tried to change the graphics resolution.
the maximum I can choose from is 984X 615 at 1256 colours
for any other colour depth the maximum is 800X600

have I missed something ?
Do I need to install the specific windows driver ?

You can not install any other graphics drivers as VBox is using it's own.
In Win 2000 you can set the color depth to 32 bit but the screen size is controlled by VBox via drag or by hot keys like (ctrl + F) for full screen or (ctrl + L) for seamless.
If this does not work then you should try to install the guest additions again.

thanks. I ve done all the SP updates for win2000 , reinstalled Guest additions , rebooted, which tells me
"the logon user interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load "
contact your admin blah blah".
