After upgrading to VirtualBox 2.2.4 (no upgrades were done on the guest), a portion of the network printers in the office (about 5/10) started to have problems. The issue seems to come up randomly. The second I take the guest off the network by either shutting down or disabling the network interfaces, the printers begin responding again. Print jobs can be queued, but printing is slow, and the printer does not respond to pings. I had to downgrade to version 2.2.2 in the hopes that the issue would no longer occur.
Host: Windows XP
Guest: Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty)
Network: Bridged
I am not 100% certain this is a vbox issue, but unless something slipped under my nose (an update), I do not see how it could be a software issue.
I'll respond with an update within the next couple days once we've determined if downgrading has resolved the issue.

Re: Network Printers Taken Offline
I have found the below bug report to be very similar to the issue I'm experiencing (if not the same):

Hope that helps anyone with any similar issues.
