I'm running VirtualBox 1.4.0 on Suse 10.2, with WinXP guests, all 32bit.
I've built a new CentOS 5.3 system running VirtualBox 2.2.4, all 64bit.
When I copy the VDI file from the old host to the new host, and add it, the screen 'bluescreens' quickly then disappears when I try to start the WinXP guest-- returning me to a XP boot menu where I can try to boot XP in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, etc. all of which return the blue screen.
Is this a result of trying to copy from 32bit to 64bit? Or are the versions too far apart? A VBoxManage command needed to convert/migrate/update?

Try changing ide controller type in virtualbox the default has changed.
Now its PIIX4 previously it was PIIX3.
