Faild to start the Virtual machine.....

Post by Hawaiisnowstorm »

Hi,

Im not sure what happen or what changed, but I was using VB earlier today with windows 7 just fine, and now it shows the follwoing error when I try to start any thing :
Failed to start the virtual machine W7.
VirtualBox can't operate in VMX root mode. Please disable the KVM kernel extension, recompile your kernel and reboot (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE).
Details :

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {9511bc54-15ee-4ddf-808e-472aba03809c}
Now I have deleted everything, uninstalled and reinstalled and tryed every way I can think of to get this to work. It works right up to where I click "start" and then it shows the above error message.

I'm running Fedora 11

Any suggestions?

I am getting this same error. It comes up when creating new machines. Operating systems I have tried Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu. Gets the same error on all.
