Get Error While Installing RouterOS

Post by Rex »

I get an error message while booting up MikroTik RouterOS 4.0beta3 on VirtualBox 2.2.4. But for the real installation is ok. Older version RouterOS 2.9 is ok. Can you tell me what's going wrong?

You can download this ISO if you need to try.

Code: Select all

Thanks and hoping to hear a good news very soon.

I gave a download link of the system above (only 20Mb). I'm sure it will be easier to debug if Sun can take a few minutes to install this system. Anyways, I will try to collect information you wanted if I have to.

I think this member has the same problem as mine.

If it is still difficult to debug by seeing these message, can you take a few minutes to install? I'm sure everyone have the same problem while install this OS. Please fix as soon as possible.

Not really, you could try vbox 3.0 or even 2.1.4 or 2.0.8, perhaps MikroTik can tell you more based on the crash report.

Rex I suggest you'd be better raising this issue on the Mikrotik boards - there's likely to be more folk there using, or trying to use, VirtualBox with RouterOS there than there are here. And I'm one of them.

That's not right. This error did not come from RouterOS but VirtualBox. If Sun could take sometime to test and fix it should be ok.

Well, even if I download and install VirtualBox version 3, the error is still exist.

Looks like you tried 3.0, 3.0.2 is out, try that one first.

But I just download it about 2 days ago. Do you think it will help after 2 days? What was fixed from version 3.0 to 3.0.2?....... Well, I will try it if you say so. Hope it work.

Look at the AppVer version, it says 3.0.0, unless they made a mistake at compiletime it looks like you are using 3.0
