Hi Gentlemen, first off, I LOVE xVM VIRTUALBOX, and I have had it running on Windows XP and Ubuntu for over a year. I currently run 6 different guest OSes, including OpenSolaris, Solaris 10, Windows 2008, Windows 2003, ubuntu, and Redhat Fedora. All run fine. I use it to prototype new installations.
I recently upgraded from 2.2.2, which was running fine, to 2.2.4, and now I have a problem with the
NET device not being configured. When I had 2.2.2, I had a virtual NET device, and it ran fine.
My installation method was to totally uninstall 2.2.2, and had the DE-installation problem noted on
other posts, and corrected it with the registry edit suggested. I then de-installed with no problem.
Then I did a fresh install from the 2.2.4 package, and XVM VirtualBox came up just fine. The Virtual Machine Guest OSes came up just fine, the Guests operated just fine and showed good performance. They could access the internet, pull down updates using package managers, and install new software, etc.
Then I rebooted, and the NET device could not configure, and asked for driver location at system startup. I tried pointing to \Program files\SUN\VirtualBox\drivers, and so on in in the installation, and that did not work. I tried searching the internet, SUNsolve, and so on, and that don't work.
Does anyone have a technote or driver for the NET Device?

Re: 2.2.2 upgrade to 2.2.4 Problems
Most of the time when this happens a reinstall by right clicking the install icon and then left clicking run as admin then selecting repair fixes this problem. You must reboot the host after this procedure before using the program.
