XP guest in XP host - Mount a Partition with bad sectors

Hi There!
I just gave a try to VB and I must say its really impressive that this software ist free! Thanxs!
Now to my problem. I needed to reinstall windows XP since my computer was too slow and with problems. Now I have 3 Partitions in my computer. P1: An older XP SP2 (2 years old with a HUGE registry), P2: My Data and P3: a freshly installed XP SP3.
I want to mount P1 in P3 as a VM, so that I don't loose all the configurations and already installed software, so that the migration is smoother.
I tried to make an Image of P1 with Clonezilla and VmWare Converter, but they failed to do it because of bad sectors in the partition. I run CHKDSK and other tools and blocked this sectors, but the problem persists.
Is there another way to mount an XP guest in an XP host?
I dont really want to work in P1, only have it there in case that I need to retrieve information or configurations.
Cheers!
