Hello,

I have just purchased a new eMachines desktop computer with Windows Vista and 3 GB of RAM and a 320 GB HD.

My old computer just died. It was also an eMachines T5048 with Windows XP. It had a 160 GB HD. I have installed this Hard Drive in my new computer and would like to be able to use it old HD as a Guest using VirtualBox 2.2.4.

Do you have a simple procedure on how to do this correctly. I am a novice at VirtualBox and need all the help I can receive.

If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to ask me.

When I registered, I selected OSE Debian. I had to make a choice, so I selected this one. I really do not know what this means so please correct me.

I really appreciate your assistance.

Thank you,

Lucas333

If you still have the CD for Windows XP, you can try to reinstall it under VirtualBox by allocating a reasonable 20 GB of hard disk space and 512 MB of memory. When I got a new PC, it had 64-bit Windows Vista and to run Windows XP under VirtualBox, I had to use the Windows 98 Second Edition ISO to install Windows 98 SE first and then upgrade to Windows XP RTM before managing to install three of the service packs (including Service Pack 1a).

I had the Windows XP RTM CD-ROM upgrade since it was used to upgrade from Windows Millennium Edition almost seven years ago.
