In the device manager, is it normal for me not seeing or having the IEEE 1394 firewire device under xp guest?
I could see the device from my linux slax host installation (under lspci output I find: 01:09.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 05)).
How do I set IEEE 1394 firewire device on?
no IEEE 1394 firewire device under xp guest

Is firewire is going to be implemented for guest in a near future? Is there some plan about it?
