Auto attaching a USB device to working Guest

Post by Murz »

I have using Debian Lenny as host and Virtualbox 2.2.4 with WinXP guest. I have setted up an empty filter for USB devices and all free USB devices are automatically attached to the WinXP guest when I start it. For example, USB Flash drive.
But if I disconnect this device from host and connect again, Virtualbox didn't attach it again, I need to manually attach it via Devices menu.
I try to create a filter for this device with any of remote states (yes, no, any), create empty filters or filters for all other devices, but nothing helps.
How I can configure Virtualbox for automatic attaching usb device to working guest machine when it plugged in to host computer?

If I attach USB devices manually, it work, but after some hours of inactive (when I go home at evening (18:00) and go back at morning (9:00)) the Windows guest lost it! For example, USB flash. It see the device, but can't open it! When I detach and attach it in the virtualbox window, it works good the whole work time. Sleep mode on guest and host are disabled.
