Need help, please.
I tried to open VMWare created image with VirtualBox (2.2.4), the guest OS is XP Prof SP2, everything went well except the Network Adapter driver still showing "VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter". I tried to remove/uninstall back it back again.
Anybody knows how to override this virtual adapter with "AMD PCNet Family PCI Ethernet Adapet" (which comes when I create guest OS using VirtualBox).

De-install the VMware tools, then install VBox Guest Additions.

I tried to use a VM created by VMware converter and was not able to just import it.
If I remember correctly I converted my physical drive with vmware concerter. Then I used the Vbox export function to export the VMDK file that the vmware converter created and then imported it back again.
It worked (after some experimenting with the settings, specifically the IDE controler settings) but it took hours.
How did you open the VMDK file?

Delete the Adapter, change Host Setting to Intel E 1000, install the Driver in the Guest.

Which adapter should be deleted?

(step by step would be greatly appreciated)

If I follow your instructions will I be able to just use the vm created by VMware converter and within minutes I am good to go?
That would be fantastic. I am in the middle of an export and I do not want to stop it but I will try it and post the result.

The Adapter in the Guest, what else. And then change the Guest Settings, start the Guest and install an Intel E 1000. To copy files you need a USB Disc at example.

It worked!!!!

(I must admit I did not know how to remove the adapter in the Guest but it worked anyway and it actually worked with

PCnet-FAST III (Bridged adapter, Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0))
I tried the Intel adapter and it did not show an E 1000 version.

Any other option did not work for me.

In my opinion this is pretty big because now we know that the vmware converter can be used for VB.

I have one minor problem:
There is a PCI device that it asks a driver for. The location is PCI slot 12 (PCI bus 0, device 13, funtion0)
I have no idea what that is.

Is there a way to fix that?
