anyone with this issue ?
very annoying, one has to keep resetting the compiz configuration......
closing a virtualbox host (power off) apparently turns off the compositing mode of compiz, so you consequentially end up with all your windows cluttered on a single desktop

Re: closing virtualbox guest resets compiz on SLED11
Are you shutting down the guests or using the saved state?
VBox writes information to its control file on the close of the guest so maybe you are not allowing it to write to the file by not shutting it down. Come to think of it the information that is used in compiz is stored in the guest OS so you might want to look and see why that file is not being updated/retained as well.

uhm, no,
it is not the guest loosing compiz settings, it is the host that looses the compiz configuration......
I just found out some other host applications do that too, so it is not a virtualbox caused issue......
