64-bit Guest OS on 32-bit host OS (core 2 duo)

Post by gvrtalks »

Hi guys,

I am trying to install Windows 2008 Server (64-bit OS) using Virtualbox 2.2.4. I am running 32-bit Vista OS on Intel Core 2 duo ( i believe this is x64). I get an error saying that it cant be done. Any advice?

Thanks!

Look in your bios and see if you have hardware-v and that it is turned on.
If you don't see it you don't have it and you will not be able to run 64 bit systems in VBox.

What about reading the Forum FAQ? there is a whole page dedicated to 64bit issues and requirements.
