[Solved] error while installing Ubuntu 9.04

Hi,

I have a problem during an installation of a ubuntu ( and xubuntu ) on my new Dell ispiron laptop under Vista.

Vbox is installed correctly but at first installation of a machine, at around 27% , the process give a note that a seriuos error occured and a suggestion
to send the log.

can anyyone please help with this?

Try to reboot the HOST PC.
If this does not work re-install VirtualBox by right clicking the install icon and then left click on run as admin. Select repair and then reboot.

Try setting the guest memory to 256 Meg and no more than 512 Meg

Send that Guest setting if this does not help.

I left 384MB (default)
and it worked !!!!
until now I gave it 1850MB out of the 4G I have.

same thing going on here, insofar as the memory issue.
VB 3.0
xp sp3 pro host
xp sp2 pro guest

had given 1 gig of my 3 to the guest. halted with same error in the log.
took it down to 770MB. same error, different point of install.
took it down to 512MB and so far everything's grand.
