Imposible to enable bridge networking after upgrade

Hello to everybody and thanks in advance for your time. Virtualbox is really a great and useful tool.

After upgrading from 2.2.2 to 2.2.4 and changing my windows profile to a new profile (necessary for my work), I copied the whole .virtualbox directory and updated properly the new path to the application. And then the problem rose: when I try to launch my Ubuntu virtual machine, Virtualbox pops up the following message:

"Failed to open/create the internal network "HostInterfaceNetworking-Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection"
(VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND).

Unknown error creating VM
(VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND)."

Aaagghh. I can't neither use the "host only" networking mode. In fact, the VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter is not properly installed (Windows XP SP3 device manager shows the existence of some kind of problem with the exclammation icon). I have tried to go back to the 2.2.2, then again to the 2.2.4, several times, always with administrator rights, and nothing works. Really a pity. It has been working long time.

I would appreciate any help you can give. Anyway, thank you vey much, folks ...

Reinstall with repair option but use the admin account, not any other alike account or runas.

Hello vbox4me2. I appreciate very much your quick (very quick!) answer.

I've just tried the solution you suggested ... and it hasn't worked. Although I had tried to repair before, I tried again with the Administrator account (anyway, my user has administrator rights on this machine but I closed my session and logged in as Administrator on the local machine).

I forgot to tell that is very curious that the virtual machine works perfectly in NAT networking mode ... but it doesn't int bridging or host-only mode; the same - horrible - message.

Thank you anyway, vbox4me2. Regards.

It may be an entry in the xml files, like port forwarding linked to a lan driver. Backup your xml files, remove'm all, make new VM and attach old VDI, see what happens.

Does it work if you bridge to a wired connection? I've heard that some wireless adapters don't work well in bridged cobnfiguration
