Is there any documentation which explains how the Host can connect to the Guest?

I have a guest server which I would like to connect to from my host machine.

There is the users guide that comes with your VirtualBox. Read Chapter 6 virtual networking section and then there is the Forum FAQ that goes into it a bit.
