how to install usb 32bit driver (vista64 host; xp32 guest)

Post by swhl28 »

Hi: i'm new to this forum and my greeting to all. :-)

my host is vista 64 and guest is xp home. i've already installed guest addition.

My Dazzle 170 Video Capture device uses a 32 bit driver for xp. when I plug in to my usb port, vista64 asks for the driver and of course i don't have one for it. (try to install the driver-for-vista-32 and failed.) however i successfully install the xp32 driver in the vm.

when i click on 'device' - 'usb' the device is visible (whether i check it or not the result is the same). but when i open the software (Pinnacle Studio 11) which i use to capture video it dosen't detect the existence of dazzle170. suggestions? thanks in advance :-)

(i have used Pinnacle Studio 11 with Dazzle 170 on an XP machine succesfully for many years)

Its doubtfull this will work, the VM video is emulated, you don't have any direct access to the Host video card.
