Guest Additions Not Installing (Vista Host, Ubuntu Guest)

Hi, everyone. A new (and excited) user of VirtualBox here!
My friend turned me to VirtualBox after I began complaining that Ubuntu wouldn't connect to my wireless network. He said it'd be much easier than booting into each operating system when I needed to access information on the net. When I started using it (VirtualBox) it connected to the web, which is awesome!
Anyway, the small screen resolution is really ticking me off. I searched for a while (including a brief search of these forums), and came to the conclusion that I need to do _something_ with guest additions. Here's what I did: Logged into Ubuntu (linux guest), Selected Devices -> Install Guest Additions..., and then waited. Waited a little more. And a little more. Nada. As per my research, I believe that I am supposed to be greeted with a pop up of some kind, but I got nothing.
Is there something I am missing?
Also, when I do select 'Install Guest Additions...', the CD/DVD image is changed to 'VBoxGuestAdditions.iso'. This leads me to believe that something is happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time,
Mark.
