Hello,
I have VB 2.2.2 running on Fedora 9. (with several virtual machines configured)
I want to install the actual version now (2.2.4). (because I see something strange when I PXE-boot vm-machines)
What is the exact procedure ?
Uninstall the old one, and then installing the new one?
or
Uninstalling the new on over the old one ?
I got problems when I updated last time (couple of months ago). And I do not want to run into problems again.
thanks
update 2.2.2 to 2.2.4

Re: update 2.2.2 to 2.2.4
Just install the new version. If you are using the F9 .rpm (which I assume) then just . If you are using the .run installer then just install the new package. Your VMs wouldn't be affected by the upgrade.
Code: Select all
rpm -U VirtualBox...rpm-

OK.
So, no need to remove first the old version.
I will do "yum local-update VirtualBox. .. .rpm" (or rpm -Uhv VirtualBox. . . .rpm)
regards,
