Moving VM to a new OS

Post by rwhalen3 »

Hi,

I recently reinstalled my OS (Ubuntu 9.04) and copied all of my VirtualBox VM files, with the intent of using the VM on the new install. On the new install, I created a new VM, and added the *.vdi file from my old VM.

Everything started up fine, but the latest state of my VM is not showing up. VBox appears to have loaded an older snapshot that I took. When I click "Snapshots" in VBox, I do not see any of the snapshots that I took on my original OS. I did go in to the settings of the newly created VM and point it to my "Snapshots" directory, but they don't seem to be showing up in the Snapshots tab.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The snapshot references are stored in the machine.xml file, you need to restore that or edit the new one.
