Vboxmanage not installed

Hi, could someone give me some advice please.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and installed Virtualbox OSE to run Windows XP as a guest OS. However, I wanted USB support so uninstalled the OSE version and installed Virtualbox 2.2.4 (PUEL version) which is up and running fine. However, I want to clone the virtual hard disk and so needed to use vboxmanage from the command line but it would appear that it is not installed. If I try to run vboxmanage from terminal I get this:-

Code: Select all

russell@ubuntu-desktop:~$ vboxmanage
The program 'vboxmanage' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose
bash: vboxmanage: command not found
russell@ubuntu-desktop:~$
...which is telling me to install the OSE version. The problem is that when I had the OSE version installed it would not let me install the PUEL version until the other had been removed so I assume they cannot both run side by side.

Could someone advise me what I need to do to overcome this please. I looked but could not find a separate vboxmanage package to install.

Many thanks

Russell
