Weird mouse beviour with additions...

Hi,

I am using VB 2.2.4 to run a win2003 VM over Vista 64 bit ultimate. I have noticed some strange mouse behaviour when using additions ie enable mouse integration. When I try to use the mouse in a text box of an application the arrow goes turquoise blue and the position disappears so you have to guess !!! When the arrow is moved out of the text app, the arrow reappears !! Perhaps the text cursor is transparent ???

I did try disabling mouse integration and while I do get the mouse in the text areas the movement does seem very jerky.

Any ideas gratefully appreciated,

Sam

While I have not had this problem myself I have read about others that have fixed this problem by turning down the video acceleration in the Windows guest.

Perryg, thanks for the reply.

Sorry to be slow, but how do I turn down the video acceleration?

Thanks,

Sam

I do not have the ability right at the moment to open my Win2003 but from memory you right click on my computer and then left click on properties. Select the advanced properties and then performance I think. Look for the video acceleration in there.

Perryg,

Thanks for this... Found that it was Control Panel/Display/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot.

Through this I have now got it working and semi jerky...!!!

I cannot help but think this may be a bug since at full acceleration it goes blue and disappears when the arrows turns into a text cursor.

What do you think?

Thanks again,

Sam

Well I don't know if it is a bug or not. Few people have this issue but most do not. I think it has something to do with the actual video controller that is in the HOST, but don't know that for sure either. I guess if I had this issue I would be more knowledgeable about it. Also look in the VBox settings and see if you have 3D effects turned on. If so try turning it off and see if that helps as well.
