proxy settings problem

Hi,
on notebook I use Ubuntu 9.04 and VirtualBox 2.2.4 and at work I have to change proxy server settings (at home I don't use proxy server because ISP is not using it), so I change settings System | Preferences | Network Proxy and set Manually proxy configuration.

This was working fine for years, but suddenly it stopped working. I have found out that I can change proxy settings only if I set above settings and shutdown PC (reboot does not help!) and start it again.

So when coming to work I set proxy server setting and shutdown/start notebook. But when I come home I have to do the same to disable proxy settings.

I don't know if this is Ubuntu problem or VirtualBox. Any idea?
Regards

Open a terminal in the Guest and check the variable HTTP_PROXY. If it's set, while you just disabled it, you can clear it manually, and the other way around. It's possible the variable isn't pushed.

In any case, it's hardly a VB issue, as it's a setting for the Guest, where VB has little to no influence on.
