guest machine terminates when closing X

Host OS: Ubuntu 8.10, VBox 2.2.4
Guest OS: Slackware 12.2 (+XFCE), VBoxGuestAdditions

When closing X (Logout of Session) I get an error "Guru Meditation -2701 (VERR_VMM_RING0_ASSERTION)" and the guest machine terminates.
When X is running it is possible to change to any TTY and back to X.
So this should not be related to the framebuffer driver I'm using for terminal display.

I'm able to reproduce this error every time.
I've attached a log and screen.

Any suggestions?

With a host and guest being Linux, you don't specify WHERE you stop X. Is it the host or the Guest? With the Host closing, it's normal that the Guest is terminated.

Sorry for don't pointing that out.
It is the guest OS where I stop X.
Also switching between the TTY's is done in the guest (without error).

So shutting down the Guest, or switching to a TTY and stop GDM will cause VB to crash? That's very strange.

I'm running XDM, but yes stopping XDM crahes the machine.

In the meantime while further researching this error, I encountered another crash while in X.
This happened while su in xterm and opening /etc/init.d/functions.

So this seems to be not only a problem of stopping X.
I'm considering re-installing the guest.
