Hi all.

I'm currently trying to run Code Composer Studio V3.3 on Windows XP SP3 as guest on an Ubuntu 9.04 host.
Code Composer Studio is an environment to develop application for Texas Instruments DSP.
The target is the evaluation board EVM DM6437 through USB.

Code Composer Studio is correctly installed on the guest and the USB device is visible too ; the device driver is installed without problems.

When running CCS, I got the 'splash' screen and waiting for ever the application opening.

If someone has an idea, let me know.

USB in Windows guests are a little tricky. I find that if you leave the filters section of the USB blank (no filters defined) open the Windows guest, then look in the USB section of VBox in the guest you will see your device. Clicking it should activate it and then you can open the program. If this does not work then the next step is to create a blank filter (the filter choice with the blue dot) and then try by starting the guest and then unplug the device and plug it back in so the guest gets focus. Then start the program.

HowTo form scratch :
1. Booting linux
2. Running Virtual Box and setting preferences for XP guest without filters
3. USB cable to EVD DM6437 board not connected
4. Running XP guest instance
5. Power on EVM DM6437 board and connect USB cable to PC
6. Menu Peripheriques / USB => activation of 'Spectrum digital USB device' => Windows make a sound to announce new USB device
7. Run Code composer studio.
Sometimes, Code composer Studio is unable to find the device. Restart from point 6
8. Connect Code composer Studio to device with ALT+C command.
9. Enjoy !
