VirtualBox (2.2.4) Registration Dialog - Not Proxy Aware

Post by Ryster »

Hi all

I use VirtualBox on my computer at work that does not have direct internet access. However I am constantly badgered by the Registration Form dialog box that keeps coming up.

For some bizzare reason only known to Sun, this doesn't appear to be proxy aware and so always fails to connect to the registration servers from my PC, thereby making the box come back again the next time the app is started.

Please can you either: 1) Fix the application so that it is proxy aware, as the majority of other apps for Windows are. , or 2) Add a "Never Register" option so I can supress the dialog box from coming up in future.

Thanks.

Any comment on this please? The registration box popping up every single time I start a VM is becoming very annoying now.

I want to be able to register the product, or supress the dialog from coming up. I don't care which.

Ryster,

I have searched and found only a couple of issues like you describe and they were from (2) years ago. I would suggest that you place a ticket on Bugtracker to see if they can tell you how to do this. Link is below my post. You will need to register a new login and password with them.
