Loss of Local Network connections

I cannot log into my local Network and read the following post
"It is more likely that this is a Bridged Interface Networking driver (rather than the host-only driver) install that is causing this problem.
When the bridged driver is installed all current network connections get dropped and all adapters re-initiate their settings. This is a known limitation and we display a warning regarding this before the install is started.

I have removed VitrualBox but the poroblem remains. How can I change or remove the Bridged Interface Networking Driver? Or is there another probl
The problem is in both my Mac and Windows systems.
Many thanks

Has anyone installed Virtual box on a Windows 2003 Server (primary domain controller running DNS Service)? The installation works fine. The Solaris instance works fine inside the virtual box.

1. as soon as I enable the network connection for the virtual box (i configured the ip in the same subnet as the primary ip for the windows server), my DNS service does not lookup addresses correctly anymore.

2. when the both connections are active, i can ping the virtual solaris servers ip from the windows server command prompt, but cannot ping the windows servers ip from the solaris vritual server

Any ideas?

@ibarrie,
What are you using for the network connections, NAT, HOST-only, Bridged, Internal ?

Have you tried Bridged mode to see if this corrects your problems?

Hi there.. thanks for the response. The new guest OS (Solaris) I am running, I have the network configured in bridged mode. The network settings inside the guest OS, is it a virtual adapter / IP completely independent of the host? Do I need to configure a separate HOST adapter?

Do I need to configure a separate HOST adapter?
No that should not be necessary. I would look at a Firewall issue first.

Thanks.. I got it working.. you were right about the bridge and not needing the host only interface. I just setup the network interface as a bridge and when configuring the solaris server, setup the ip address in the same subnet as my windows server. It works like a charm. :D
