After installing 2.2.4, my network shares on the host machine became unavailable. I couldn't even browse the network to find it. I went to the network settings page and disabled the VirtualBox NIC and unchecked the bridging on the host NIC and all returned to normal.

Is there some way to overcome this problem so my VirtualBox has access to the outside World without impacting my network shares?

Tried a reinstall of VB? And you note that you use Vista as Host, with the OSE version, can you explain that? The pre-build installer found here on the website is the PUEL version.

This is a reinstall of VirtualBox... 2.2.4 over and older version.
And no it is not OSE...I was trying anything to get past the registration screen when the version number would not get me registered.
As stated it is VirtualBox 2.2.4 running on Vista.
