Hey everyone,
I have a little problem with my (former) installation of VirtualBox on an XP host: I uninstalled VirtualBox, however, the VirtualBox Host Networking Interface Driver still shows up in the Properties-Tab of any one of my physical network interfaces in 'Network Connections'. Clicking 'Uninstall' fails with the system reporting that the driver is needed by 'Sun VirtualBox'.
In order to try and get the driver to be uninstalled, I tried reinstalling VirtualBox 2.2.2 and 2.2.4 and uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller. The driver remains
Other thigns I tried:
- Unregistering VBoxNetFltNotify.dll and deleting said file
- Deleting any .sys-files from \windows\system32\drivers that belonged to VirtualBox
- Scanning my registry for VBox and deleting any references that popped up.
Unfortunately, the combination of the last three caused some significant problems in Windows, where all of the properties of any one of my network adapters disappeared and clicking 'install' caused an error.
Thanks for your help in trying to get this left over driver to disappear!
