I was testing for improvements in 2.2.4 and when I tried to shut the boxes down they just held at the stopping . It didn't seem to crash but it wouldst let the boxes close leading me to do a restart to clear the stuck boxes  . I had windows 7, server 03 and pxe booted pc.

I've done the repair for 2.2.4 as in previous posts and am using most recent windows vista(sp2) and patches.

Just thought I'd post it and see if the problems occurring before I go finding logs to post a ticket.

I am having the same problem with Windows 2003 guest on vbox 2.2.4 xp host. I tried to restart the guest and guest hangs. CPU is 50%. Kill through task manager does not work. I can kill the vboxsvc process but the child virtualbox.exe does not die. Only recourse to reboot.

I am seeing this hang issue for 2.2.4 very frequently. This happens when I chenge the guest computer name and join the domain and have to restart the box. I think if I shutdown and start the guest it seems ok. Only when I use the 'restart" in the windows guest shutdownI see the problem

Guest Windows 2003 --> shutdown --> restart :: see the issue
Guest Windows 2003 --> shutdown-->shutdown and then start from GUI :: DO NOT see the issue

Environment:

Host windows XP SP2
Vbox; 2.2.4
Guest Windows 2003

I see the cpu for thos hung process at 50%. I killed the VBOXSvd thru task manager and the runaway virtualbox.exe was doing conetct swicthes, was 50% cpu and preocess explorer showed
