I have an a virtual xp host hdd and all the related snapshots saved which were created when i was running hardy heron. These were all stored on a seperate data partition not in / or home.
I have installed jaunty jackalope now and installed vb 2.2 how do i load my virtual xp guest now?

Dont understand your question? Start them as before.

If you have copied jaunty over the guests, then there is nothing elese than jaunty.

If the data partition still exists, then create a new guest and assign existing images.

If you have everything from VB on that separate drive, including the main VirtualBox.xml file, you can change the environmental variable VBOX_USER_HOME to the new location. You can also create a symlink to that folder in your home folder.

If you have the settings files of the VMs from the previous install, then you can try to get those to work. Copy the snapshot entries into your new VM settings files. The default location for machine files is in your home folder, under .VirtualBox. This is a hidden folder, so you have to tell your file browser to show hidden files and folders. There you will also find the main VirtualBox.xml file which has all the media files that are registered listed.
