How do I setup the Host Interface?

Hi!

I have just reinstalled Windows Vista and setup VirtualBox. I want the guest to get access to Internet using the Host Interface but it doesn't work. I want the guest to be a part of my network so it can get an IP address from the DHCP.

Now it seems that Windows has created a new network interface called VirtualBox Host-Only Network that isn´t a part of my other network so it can get an internal IP from there. When I look at the properties of that network, it says the DHCP isn´t activated.

How can I make so the VirtualBox gets an IP from my router?

Hostonly is not Hostinterface.

You are searching for "Bridge". Read the Manual about this. And please use newest version (2.24).

Host-Only is Host bound, as it's a virtual adapter. Don't use it if you want your VM to be part of your network. Use Bridged, select your physical NIC to use which you also use for internet and you're done. If you can't select an interface for Bridged, you might need to repair the installation, but that should be fixed already.
