Multiple physical NICs

Post by jasonacg »

New at this...thanks in advance for your patience.

Just installed Vitrual Box on my Vista machine. Also installed Fedora 10 (64-bit) as the virtual system.

I also added a network card to the system, so there are now two physical interfaces in the computer.

I selected the one network card that I want to use from within the Virtual Box GUI. I made sure that the other interface was not selected at all, presumably meaning that one device would be active, and the other would not be touched by the virtual machine.

However, when I run within Linux, both cards are active simultaneously. I cannot seem to disable the unwanted device from
within Linux.

Windows and Linux have each been assigned different IP addresses.

Any way to correct this?

Thanks.

Are you absolutely certain that only selected one adapter in VBox? AFAIK there is no way that the guest can connect to the NIC unless it is assigned in the settings.
