It's likely the driver is the issue. You're also advised to upgrade to the latest version, 2.2.4. There are lots of bugs fixed, and possibly your problem too.

I'm running 3.0.4. (the latest version) and I'm having the same problem.

I have a Toshiba laptop too.

My specs:

Laptop: Toshiba L305-S5955
Wireless: Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter

I'm running Vista Home.

The guest OS I installed was Windows 7, if you need to know..

This is the only problem preventing me from using VirtualBox, and I really want to use VirtualBox.

Also like to point out that I've Googled and didn't really find much..

Have you tried updating the driver using the latest driver from realtek (www.realtek.com.tw)? As last option you can disable the bridging support for the interface. Open the properties of the NIC, and untick the checkbox that says VirtualBox Bridged network driver (or something like that). Note that you won't be able to use your wireless adapter for bridged networking, so the virtual machine won't become a separate machine on the wireless network.
