VirtualBox 2.1.4
Host: Windows XP SP2
Guest: Ubuntu 8.04 Server

I've reinstalled the NIC in XP control panel and now my Guest won't start. Reports the following error:

Code: Select all

Unknown error creating VM
(VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface IConsole {e3c6d4a1-a935-47ca-b16d-f9e9c496e53e}
If I change the Guest Adapter 1 > Attached to to anything other than Host Interface then it starts normally except I don't have proper networking so it won't do.

You need to reconnect your guest network adapter in the VirtualBox GUI VM settings.

And how do I do that?

a-ok,

I think I see what you did. It sounds like you installed a different adapter in the Windows control panel instead of using the host adapter supplied by VBox. Try re-installing the VBox program and see if it will put things back together for you.

Yup, I did that and it's working ok now. Actually almost every problem I had with VirtualBox was fixed by reinstalling. :)

Thanks
