Hi everybody,

I hace just upgraded to VirtualBox 2.2.2r46594 from my previous VirtualBox 2.2.0rsomething and, having used my Kingston Datatraveller usb pendrive without problems in my previos Virtualbox (Windows XP host, Debian Lenny with Gnome Guest) I get now this error:

Could not load the Host USB Proxy Service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). The service might not be installed on the host computer.

After this VirtualBox 2.2.2 doesn't detects my usb pendrive so I can't select the corresponding filter..

What can be done?

thanks a lot in advance and congratulation to all the VBox team, Virtualizacion is the most impressive "magic" I have ever seen...;)

It sounds like the drivers were not updated correctly. Try reinstalling by right clicking the install icon and then left click on run as...admin. Then you should be presented with uninstall or repair. Select repair. Answer continue to any questions that you may get and then reboot after the reinstall. See if this makes it work for you.

It Worked!

After Repairing the VirtualBox installation the USB driver was also reinstalled and now I have my pendrive back in Lenny..

Thanx very much for your help!

Hi antonio.soria,

It seems that you are currently running on old version of virtual box. This bug has been solved in newer version. The latest version that is out in market is virtual box 3.0.4.
