Re: Pod racer on Win98SE
Guest Additions are not working for WinDOS, so you have no 3D in the Guest.
But else for XP Guests most games doesnt work with WINE3D.
Its better to try WINE/Cedega on Linux Hosts or Dual Boot or the Garage Sale

Re: Pod racer on Win98SE
well would it be worth it to setup a win XP guest. to be able to play pod racer, since the emulation isnt topnotch and wont go as smooth as it should?

Re: Pod racer on Win98SE
I remember Podracer. That was a lot of fun, but it did need DirectX IIRC. That's something that's not available in VB as you already found out (you tried it with Wine3D). I think it uses either some ancient calls that aren't supported anymore, or the Wine3D doesn't have those calls. Either way, you're better of getting an old PC. I wonder if they actually build a CPU limiter in that game, 'cause if they didn't, then it would go way too fast on current hardware, even in a VM.
