Pod racer on Win98SE

I just have a question if anyone got this to run on virtual box? because i have installed wine3d, but it still says i dont have direct3D and won't start :S

so any suggestions for this problem. or just buy a win98 computer at a garage sale ;]

Guest Additions are not working for WinDOS, so you have no 3D in the Guest.

But else for XP Guests most games doesnt work with WINE3D.

Its better to try WINE/Cedega on Linux Hosts or Dual Boot or the Garage Sale :)

well would it be worth it to setup a win XP guest. to be able to play pod racer, since the emulation isnt topnotch and wont go as smooth as it should?

I remember Podracer. That was a lot of fun, but it did need DirectX IIRC. That's something that's not available in VB as you already found out (you tried it with Wine3D). I think it uses either some ancient calls that aren't supported anymore, or the Wine3D doesn't have those calls. Either way, you're better of getting an old PC. I wonder if they actually build a CPU limiter in that game, 'cause if they didn't, then it would go way too fast on current hardware, even in a VM.
