Microphone won't function in Windows XP

Post by TimmyBoston »

Hi all, this is my first post here. I installed VirtualBox 2.2.2 this evening and I am really impressed with it. I have just one problem. I installed it for a single purpose to use my Rosetta Stone Language programs and they microphone doesn't work at all. I am novice and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Any suggestions. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 if that has any effect. The Windows version that VirtualBox is housing is Windows XP 32 Service Pack 2.

Thanks all for any help and suggestions. They are greatly appreciated.

First thing to do is welcome you to the forum,

Now you need to try to paint a picture of what you have tried and exactly what your system looks like so we can try to figure out the problem. We are not there so it is like trying to explain to a blind person what it looks like. Please provide the guest settings and memory that you have allocated and have. Also does the microphone work in the host? How does the microphone connect to the PC is it a USB device ETC... What you use to control your audio Pulse audio... That sort of stuff.
