Hi,

I'm havin' strange problems using Virtualbox 2.2.2, but not necessary this particular version perhaps.

I've been using Virtualbox for a while now and usually it's on Windows Vista Ultimate x86, using it to VM XP, Vista x64 and even Ubuntu x64.

Recently i've started to switch to Windows Vista Ultimate x64, whenever I tried to VM Windows Vista Ultimate x64 it freezes. When installing Vista, the first thing is a white bar running from left to right and then the green bar then eventually the setup starts, but this time after the white bar it freezes with multiple green lines and some red patches. The Vista Ultimate x64 ISO i created used to work when I was using Vista x86, anyway I've tried re-creatin' the ISO with the same results, I've also tried an ISO containing Vista x86, it worked, even tried creatin' a new Hard Drive.

I wonder why running Vista x64 on Vista x64 host, will have this weird problem. :?:

Hope you guys can figure it out.

Thanks.

Are you sure your system can run 64 bit Guests? Check the VirtualBox FAQ for the requirements.
The distortion you're describing sounds like a BSOD in the Guest. Sometimes the graphics freak out and show it like that, instead of a normal BSOD.

Yea sure i'm using AMD, and when havin' Vista 32 bit OS, I can run Vista 64 bit guest, but can't run Vista 64 bit guest on Vista 64 bit host, the same ISO that can't run on my Vista 64 bit OS can run on Vista 32 bit.

I've discovered that if I enable Nested Paging, my problems will go away, not so sure why but maybe that's how it works when working on Vista x64 guest on Vista x64 host, it's the first time i've enable that, never have to on Vista x86 host
